7 Keys to Walking with God
1. Admit you need a Savior from sin.

God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16)

If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. (Romans 10:9)

2. Surrender to His will.

If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. (Luke 9:23)

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. (Galatians 2:20)
3. Learn about God from the Bible and as seen in Jesus, specifically.

I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you. (Psalm 119:11)

The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. (John 1:14)
4. Pray (talk to God) about everything.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. (Philippians 4:6)

5. Cultivate an attitude of thanksgiving and praise.

Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. (1 Thess. 5:18)

Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. (Psalm 100:4)
6. Learn to walk by faith and hear God speak.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. (Prov.3:5-6)

7. Seek to live a life shaped by God’s love and grace–both to you and through you.

Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. (Colossians 3:13)
